David Walker's Appeal COLLAPSE The key factor in David Walker’s Appeal to the Colored Citizens of the World revolves around inequality and the way people of color were and are still being treated. In reading the appeal, one could tell that it’s not a formal dissertation, but a cry for help. He wanted his readers to know that enough is enough, and something must be done to bring about change in society. The major themes that I see throughout the four sections of this book are Christian Theologies and Economic Inequalities. Walker was a devoted Christian, who uses biblical references such as exodus, to support his attitude on the issues that black people in society were facing. He believes that the doctrines about Christ should be taught to everyone on earth, regardless of the color of their skin. In the four sections of the book, he frequently warned the white people that they would be punished by God for the crimes that they were committing against his people.
