In Korea, this adaptation is known as Seon. An interview with a Professor of Korean Studies at the University of Sheffield, James H. Grayson (interviewed by James Blake Wiener of Ancient History Encyclopedia), talks about the fact that Korea and China followed similar Buddhist belief systems that centered around Confucianism where it was the principal source of ideas for the philosophy, which taught to practice keeping a good government, and the maintenance of a good society (Grayson & Wiener, 2017).
