Writing communicates one's knowledge or understanding of a topic, case or assignment (College
Success, 2015, p. 273).
To excel in college-level writing assignments, one has to adapt to certain helpful writing process
which starts before you write, such as Prewriting, Writing the draft, Revising and Editing
(College Success, 2015, p. 282).
Adapting the Writing Process can be tough at times more especially when you have no
knowledge of what to write or how to commence. Staying focused, organized and determined

Per College Success (2015), there are writing strategies that one could try implementing such as
communicating with others interested on what you want to write, engaging on their ideas, taking
notes of your thoughts as they come to mind, questioning them as in “why,” “how,” “what”,
outlining before drafting, reverse outlining to see what fits and don’t fit and reading your draft
