Behavior Modification Learning Objectives To understand the challenges that face people trying to live a healthy lifestyle. To be able to explain the major behavior change theories. To list the steps in developing a behavior change plan. Increase in heart attacks, stroke, hypertension, etc., as well as technology. The things that have been designed to make our lives more simple have made us less healthy. Adults cannot find a way to achieve a healthy lifestyle. The majority of people who try to change their behavior are not successful--- 60% give up. Most behaviors are a product of our environment (i.e. conveniences, family, friends, social situations, school, communities, resources, and culture. Advertising agencies have made it very easy for the American public to get duped into thinking that junk food is okay and normal.
