GENERAL BACKGROUND ABOUT THE COUNTRYJAPAN BACKGROUNDJapan is the world's third-largest economy, having achieved remarkable growth in the secondhalf of the 20th century after the devastation of the second world war.The population isaround 126.4 million and the major religions are Shintoism and Buddhism. For the politicalside, Japanese politics is a bicameral multi-party democratic parliament representative of aconstitutional kingdoms where the emperor is the head of state ceremony and the primeminister is the head of government and the head of the cabinet, which is part of executive.The legislature is in the hands of parliament which consists of the dpr and the advisorycouncil. Japan is a fascinating country of economic and business prowess, rich culture,technical or wizardry, spatial conundrums and contradictions. By the end of world war ii(1945), Japan’s economy was in a state of collapse but rose all the way back in the 1970s dueto the increased of the imported petroleum prices and labour cost. Japan held onto the title ofthe world’s second largest economy for more than 40 years from 1968 to 2010.Japan as a country that adheres to a democratic political system, cannot negate the life anddevelopment of political parties, in order words the existence of political parties is one of thecharacteristics that japan is a democratic country.Until now, japan has adopted a multi-party-political system (money parties).There are six major parties including liberal democraticparty, the japan socialist party, the komeito, the democratic socialist party, the japancommunist party and the united social democratic party.
