Hello Class, I have chosen the opposite case for this discussion; I will be focusing on the case of Tiffani. Tiffani is a 16-year-old Caucasian female who was mandated by the court to reside in a group home and begin receiving counseling services (Plummer, 2013). Tiffani has had a difficult and traumatic life. Tifanni has a history of being involved with Donald, who is her pimp, running away from her home, and even has been exposed to sexually transmitted diseases (Plummer, 2013). Currently, Tiffani expresses being torn between living with her sister and mother or going back to Donald (Plummer, 2013). Erik Erikson’s psychosocial stages focus on the stages in which an individual such as Tiffani falls under a certain bracket of development. For instance, in Tiffani’s case, we can identify the best stage for her psychosocial development at the Identity vs. Role Confusion. The fifth stage of Erikson’s psychosocial development states that at this stage, adolescents search for a sense of self and personal identity (MdLeod, Saul, 2018).
