Benchmark - Research PaperThis was a time when the world was changing once again. The music scene was changingfrom seventies rock to boy bands, video games went from Atari to Nintendo, clothing styles werebright and colorful, The future looked bright for American families. While families were happy, and the music was different, and people were living life to the fullest there was also many other factors that were changing in politics, healthcare, and more. The Reagan-Bush years would be bright and prosperous, and it was a great time for business it had its downs towards the end of theReagan-Bush era, but what a time to live. One can have a better understanding of the end of the Cold War, Foreign Policy changes, Social Culture, and more. Looking into past helps one understand this era, the bright future ahead, and the turning of events from the eighties and nineties. Ronald Regan was as ethical as they could come. From growing up in a small town in Tampico and Dixon Illinois to becoming an actor this eventually led to politics (McClure, A. F. 2019). Reagan went to Eureka College in Illinois and was in many sports programs like football, track, captain of the swim team as well as serving on the student council as president. He also found his passion for acting and graduated with a major in so then gained his first job in nineteenthirty-two as a radio sports announcer (McClure, A. F. 2019). He was a military man who was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Officers Reserve Corps of the Calvary in nineteen thirty-seven till nineteen forty-two when he was ordered to active duty. Due to his poor eyesight, he was denied combat duty and spent time making training films thereafter (McClure, A. F. 2019). During this time, he was also married to his first wife Jane Wyman whom he had one daughter with and an adopted son. He was then the very first president elected who was divorcedthen later re-married. He then sought out politics through democratic campaigning, but over time2
grew to be more conservative. Then in Nineteen sixty he had announced that he was officially a republican. This led into the future of who Ronald Reagan would become as President of the United States of America. He had ups and down in politics until he was announced with a victoryas President of the United States in nineteen eighty with his running mate George W. Bush. Reagan won the election and Bush would be by his side for the next two presidential terms. George W. Bush had a very similar background as Ronald Reagan, this could be why they worked so well together when other thought they were too different. He went through college, was married, had children, went into politics, had a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, and so on. Although, the two were different they also were very similar. Reagan had his worries about Bush in the beginning, but the two did come together, and eased into the positions like they
