NS 141 – Diet Analysis Assignment Due April 15, 2008 Computer databases provide quick and easy references for food composition data. You have access to one such database, the MyPyramid Tracker, at http://mypyramid.gov/. This project will require you to become familiar with the process of dietary analysis. You will use the MyPyramid Tracker to conduct a three-day average dietary analysis on yourself. You will need to record your food intake for three days, one of those days being a weekend. Your 3-day food record must be detailed, include all condiments and ingredients and estimate serving sizes to the best of your ability. You will be asked to print out specific reports and critique your diet. ***Important Information*** Troubleshooting information is available at http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/FAQ.asp The project must be typed You must hand in food records. Directions for Diet Analysis A. Record your food intake for three days, including one weekend day. (Food diary forms attached at end of this document.) B. Analyze the food/activity record using MyPyramid Tracker. You will need to create a log-in to evaluate your food/activity record. Directions for Analysis using My Pyramid Tracker: Enter the website noted above and select My Pyramid Tracker from the list of options presented in the Subject box. Next, click on Assess Your Food Intake . You will need to create an account to access the database. After you create an account click on submit and you will be taken to the log-in page. Log-in
