Surprised by Shakespeare: Westmont Theatre Arts at the Santa Barbara Art Museum “Surprised by Shakespeare: Pop-Up Performances,” an event at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, was hosted by the museum on January 9th with free admittance to all visitors. The event was part of a series known as “Free Thursdays,” during which museum visitors can access all galleries, the Family Resource Center, and the Museum Store free of charge. Each Thursday also features a different form of special programming. “Surprised by Shakespeare” was inspired by the current featured exhibit on Delacroix, and involved serious, comic, spoken, sung, poetic, contemporary, and traditional performances based on Shakespeare’s work “Hamlet.” The acts were directed and choreographed by Michael Bernard and Westmont Theatre professor Mitchell Thomas. Bernard and Thomas performed one of the acts themselves, a humorous skit in the McCormick Gallery featuring Thomas as William Shakespeare and Bernard as Shakespeare’s agent.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
