Discussions on Latino Culture Urban Initiative hosted their third event in a series of discussions on community engagement and homelessness on November 13 th . The third of these “Urban Discussions” was titled “Engaging With Latino Culture,” and was hosted in conjunction with LCO and Potter’s Clay. The event was held in the Founders Room, next to the Dining Commons, from 7:30 to 9:00. The stated topics for the evening’s discussion included what the term “Latino” includes or excludes, what this looks like in the Santa Barbara community, and what it looks like in the Westmont community. According to Urban Initiative officers, the hope was that people left encouraged, having learned something new, and possibly acquired new awareness of opportunities to serve. Urban Initiative, LCO, and Potter’s Clay are all student organizations at Westmont focused on helping communities in different ways. Urban Initiative raises awareness and attempts to inspire engagement between Westmont students and inner-city populations. LCO is the Latino Culture Organization, one of the Intercultural Organizations on campus. Potter’s Clay is an organization that holds biannual missions

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
