Summary of Case Study: Having plagiarized a paper for class and following internal proceedings and a hearing, Joshua Sterling was expelled from State University. He was told that he could re-apply for admission no sooner than one year later, which he did, and was thus re-admitted. His re-admission was contingent upon his agreeing to certain terms and conditions, such as allowing the university to disclose via faculty, staff, etc. the reasons for his original expulsion. After graduation, Joshua realized that applying to graduate school could become quite problematic with his expulsion detailed on his transcript and communicated in letters of recommendation, etc. He is now seeking legal advice regarding this matter. Outline of our facts/questions so far: The State University in question is SUNY at Buffalo (UB), so that we may view their rules/regulations, etc. Joshua Sterling (Sterling) did receive notice from the university about the rules and
