THE FOUR-YEAR PLAN Graduation just doesn’t happen. There are many important choices that each student need to make at the right time if he/she wants to find themselves happily wearing a cap and gown, receiving a diploma, and moving on to the next phase of their lives. One of the best activities for doing this is making out a four-year plan. Procedure Step 1. This exercise does not require anything special—a copy of the General Bulletin or other program of study guide and some paper. If you already know what major you will declare, then create a four-year course plan for that major. You should be certain to observe all prerequisites and course offering limitations that might exist. If you are uncertain or have more than one major you would like to consider, simply choose a specific major for the purposes of this exercise. Step 2. Once you have created a four-year course plan, identify the extra-curricular experiences that might support this particular major. Experiences you should consider are: study abroad, internships, co-op experiences, service learning,
