Ozemba 1 Steven Ozemba English 1010-004 Prof . Ann AL-Chokhachi 2/22/2008 Summary : In this selection, Barbara Kingsolver, with a master’s degree in biology and ecology from the University of Arizona, declares that the media is a major influence in every person’s life . She indicates that the tragedy at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado was sparked by the media such as violence in music and video games . Kingsolver’s friend basically starts the reading off with how columbine used to be her favorite flowers . Now she isn’t even able to plant them on the steep bank at the foot of the woods above her house . It’s all because of what happened at a place like Columbine High that can change the way we think and feel about the media . Kingsolver includes that children see right past what adults see in the media . Children who play violent video games and listen to violent music are more likely to be changed by this behavior that is shown .

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
