Mahabharata is a well-known oldest epic of Hinduism. Shakuntala is the main character taken from Mahabharata. Shakuntala is an immortal play written by Kalidasa, a great poet and dramatist of ancient India.[ CITATION Gre20 \l 1033 ] Shakuntala is an ideal woman, daughter of heavenly nymph 'Menaka' and sage Vishwamitra was later adopted by sage kanva. Shakuntala stands for the beauty in Indian womanhood and represents the feminine ideal of Indian women. An ideal Indian woman is assumed to be polite, loyal, devoted to her husband, beautiful, perfect body structure, charming, innocent, calm and caring.
