Journal #2: When I woke up Tuesday morning, it was Friday
Pre-write:
I’ve had the experience of “altered time” in the past.
For example, I sometimes plan on
taking short naps during the day, but when I wake up, it’s nighttime. Once I’m awake, I feel as if
the time passed faster than normal, as if the day has been wasted.
I have gone somewhere on
“automatic pilot” many times.
For example, there have been times where I’m driving
somewhere and I pass by a friend’s house.
Because I’m always used to making that turn, I
automatically turn onto his/her street without thinking about it.
Lastly, there have been many
cases where I’ve forgotten something important because I’m so caught up in something else.
For
example, over winter break I became so caught up in a conversation with my best friend, and
forgot I was supposed to meet my family at a restaurant for dinner.
