Summary: The purpose of this experiment is to find the temperature at which the material melts and is able to be pushed through a small die. One of the reasons this test is so important is because it is used for quality control. If the material is different every shipment then the supplier is not very reliable. Introduction: The Experiment was not preformed but an overall run through was given. This test is used for quality control. It measures the rate of extrusion of a thermoplastic material through an orifice of specific diameter and length under prescribed conditions of temperature and pressure. Procedure: 1. Make sure the computer and meter are synchronized 2. Preheat the machine 3. clean die and barrel if needed (in hot condition) 4.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
