Over the years China has gone through many different changes through many different dynasties. However, there is always a constant theme of Confucianism and Legalism that is prevalent throughout the rulings of the Chinese dynasties. In the very beginning of Chinese history, there has been three forms of thought Daoism, Confucianism, and Legalism, and while Daoism was an important part of the Chinese State, it would make mor of an impact later unlike Legalism and Confucianism. Before the Qin there were many different thinkers, such as Xunzi and Mencius, all “focusing on addressing the political and economic concerns of the day” each with their own Ideals each building on previous scholars such as Confucius and Mozi (Hansen 86). The ideals of Confucianism and Legalism were before the time, of when most historians would document as, the beginnings of the Chinese empire the Qin dynasty. These ideals would stick with China for much of its history.
