Introduction Social media has become a part of everyday life for personal, business, and even for most police departments to spread important information. Social media has a way to reach majority of the people in the world due to us always having a phone in our hands. With social media we can watch the news for our local are live, any emergency can be pushed quickly through Facebook, twitter and now TikTok. Social media can always have its negative factors cyberbullying, racism, hate, and exploiting of inappropriate videos and pictures. Some victims never get over the negative and may lead up to extreme depression, anxiety, and suicide. The use of social media made has brought so many issues to our eyes from a history stance. We see more racial separation now since the election then we have my 34 years of living. Everything that is an issue in the world is speeded through social media to be fueled by democrats or republicans. Sometimes we even see people state if you vote for Donald Trump your racist. It even got to the point President Joe Biden stated “If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black” (Biden). History has showed us the pure hate that happened back in the 30’s to late 70’s, and now we had a flash back look at how some people viewed certain races. Covid came and people were already upset with being stuck in the house, so a lot of emotions were elevated and out on social media tough. Social media has a high impact when it comes to humanities. These are positive effects that comes from the behavior of humans while on social media. Social media has always showed great ideas and being shared with millions of people. During the covid era we seen social media
take off with positive actions, such as teaching people healthy meal prepping, dance moves, haircut, to other hygiene methods. TikTok just came into social media zone and has took over with tiktok, you can dance with people, sing, and even cook with the duet feature on the app. This kept a lot of people sanity balanced during the lockdown. Some of the negatives come from this, would be kids focusing more on dancing than finishing school work. YouTube has the biggest platform, with the most gainful information. When it comes to social networks, YouTube dominates video content sharing. This massive video-sharing platform lets users post, comment on, and up vote or down-vote music videos, TV shows, vlogs, educational content, live streams, movie trailers, and more. They can also subscribe to other users’ channels and add videos to playlists. “YouTube functions as a massive search engine (2nd only to Google), making SEO an important consideration for content creators.” (YoungBlood). Social media has even gone as far as being known to effect individuals mental and physical health. “However, multiple studies have found a strong link between heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts.”
