upbringing influences the way we see and observe things that affect our interpretation, meaning,
and judgment. As training is developmental in nature, we can develop or shape our perception to
be as objective, unbiased, and progressive as we would want.
In the organizational context, our perception affects how we communicate among ourselves.
Some factors such as those shown below may get in the way of understanding the truth within a
message; thus, affecting our behaviors:

Introduction
Perception refers to the set of processes we use to make sense of all the stimuli you encounter
every second, from the glow of the computer screen in front of you to the smell of the room to
the itch on your ankle. Our perceptions are based on how we interpret all these different
sensations, which are sensory impressions we get from the stimuli in the world around us.
Perception enables us to navigate the world and to make decisions about everything, from which
T-shirt to wear or how fast to run away from a bear (Introduction to Perception).
Our behavior communicates valuable information that otherwise may go unknown. In
psychology, behavior consists of an organism's external reactions to its environment. Other
aspects of psychology, such as emotions, thoughts, and other internal mental processes, don't
usually fall under the category of behavior (Behavior: Definition & Explanation).
