Critical thinking is the ability to think rationally. It is about using logic and reasoning to arrive at anobjective conclusion ("College Success", 2015, p. 100). When you think critically you refuse to see thingsthrough the prism of face value. Instead, you go beyond the simplistic thought process by considering allthe possibilities with an open mind. Steve Job once said that if you think something is simple then youdo not understand it. Going beyond the simplistic mindset to challenge yourself in thoroughlyunderstanding the complexity of a thing to the point wherein you can simplify it, according to him, is asoft skill of life we all need. Naturally, our decision-making process is strongly influenced by personalbiases, prejudices, and irrational hunches.
