Keywords: 1. Arranged marriage: an organized marriage between two people by the two families. There are many arranged marriages in Egypt. 2. Bamboo Ceiling: the resentment and racism that talented Asian Americans face. Many Asians experience bamboo ceilings in America. 3. Blaming the victim: when blamers think that the victim's previous action incurs some/all responsibility for the event and is blameworthy. In Egypt, people blame the women which are the victims when they face harassment. 4. Chain immigration: the pattern by which immigrants from a singular town follow one another to a different city. When my aunt moved to America, my mom followed her and too many family members and that created a chain immigration from Egypt to the United States. 5. Desi: a common title for people who follow their heritage to South Asia, particularly India. I always like to dress up for desi gatherings because they remind me of Egypt and wearing something traditional always takes me back in time to the good old days. 6. Gook syndrome is Riesman's expression describing American's tendency to stereotype Asian and to view them as all alike and unwanted. Many Asian were presented as gook syndrome by Americans.
