Childhood obesity has numerous health considerations that parents and children need to be aware of. Chronic health issues such as asthma, diabetes or attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and sleep apnea can require long-term treatment[ano10]. These health issues can hinder a child’s ability to play sports or be physically active, it can also make it more difficult for a child succeed in school due to attention-deficit hyperactivity disorders. Childhood obesity can also cause social discrimination which can cause obese children to not learn as well as those who are not obese[Sol14]. Childhood obesity leads to bullying and self-esteem issues in children. Increasing the physical activity and reducing sedentary behaviors are logical and accepted strategies for maintaining energy balance and preventing excessive weight gain[Lea11]. Infants and children need opportunities to move around and exercise under adult supervision either indoors or outdoors to increase activity level. Large open play grounds that engage children in a moderate to vigorous physical activity can help with the expelling of calories and an improved cardiovascular system. Monitoring the levels of processed foods, and calories that are eaten on a daily basis will also help to reduce childhood obesity. Parent’s goals need to be increased
