The IQR for average female marathon pace is 13, which means that the middle 50% of average marathon paces for females fall within 13 minutes of each other. Females who ran the marathon were much more consistent in their times then the males who ran it. 2 Variable LSRL: ŷ =654.914-3.286x ŷ : predicted time for male in minutes x: age in years R: r=-0.618 Slope: On average, for every additional year of age, the predicted time for males went down by 3.286 minutes. Y-Intercept: At 0 years of age, the predicted time for males is about 654.914 minutes. R 2 : 38.244% of the variation in time can be explained by the linear model relating age to time. DUF’s : There is a strong, negative, and linear association between age in years and time in minutes for females in a marathon. There does not appear to be any unusual features. Residual Plot: This is no the best model because we can see that the residual plot has a pattern and it isn’t random.
