say “that guy is dope”. I cannot remember exactly when I started using “dope” as a normal word, however it came about pretty quickly. Everyone in my high school used it so nonchalantly that picking up on it came pretty naturally. Eventually the made up suffix “-ski” was added to many words. The suffix did not have any real meaning, it was just a nonsense addition to words such as dope. Thus, these high schoolers would walk around my town saying “dopeski”. You can only imagine how ridiculous we sounded. Fortunately, this slang term dissolved in popularity somewhere around my Junior year. I remember in my science class one day my teacher saw my friend and I passing notes. Overlooking our rude behavior, all he could say to me was, “Why are you calling Emily marijuana?”. After explaining to us that dope was another word for the drug, we figured we should adopt a new word that would not cause any confusion. Thus the development of “word”. Now if someone were to use “dope” like we did three years ago, I would think they were outdated. However if they say “word” that would just be a normal thing to hear. Most likely, this slang will eventually die out and a new word will take its place. Meanwhile, I will continue to use it. Now I am finished, word !

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
