Personnel selec-tion means the internal or external occupation of positions in the company (defni-tion). This has three important meanings for corporate culture. Firstly, in the case of external staff assignments, the decision is made as to which persons are allowed into the company, and they will in turn infuence that corporate culture. Secondly, man-agement is assigned power, that is, infuence on enterprise culture. Thirdly the selection of supervisors as promotions is a main incentive for the performance of the employees.The selection of staff is also one of the most complex and signifcant company decisions. Complex and thus diffcult, because the company does not know the character, abilities and intentions of the applicant due to asymmetrical information distribution, particularly in the case of external positions. It is important to note that these decisions can only be made at short notice with high costs, which have very far-reaching consequences for the company.
