FOUNDATIONS FOR CHANGE3Formulate and Identify Approaches and InterventionsSuccessful organizations during change are those that incorporate different areas so as toenable the company to grow organically and allow different groups to evolve and adapt atvarying rates and requires assessing factors that balance the needs of the community within anorganization and the needs of the individuals in that organization and how they will be affectednegatively or positively during the change. When the organization includes the idea of change intheir everyday operations and as an ongoing mechanism, successful change will be systemic andcontinuous. Evolving organizations recognize an increasing need to constantly, continuouslymanage change, uncertainty and coordinate energies in an innovative manner (Freeman, 2010).Change management has evolved over the years with the use of different models used tohelp ease the impact change can have on an organization. This is an overview of three changemodels. Lewin's change management model that include unfreeze, transition and refreeze. Thismodel is typically used during a major organizational change is happening. Another model isMcKinsey’s 7-s model that includes the following key factors: shared values, strategy, structure, systems, staff, skills, style/culture and shared values.Lastly is Kotter's 8 step change modelwhich outlines eight stages that enable stakeholders to adopt proposed organizational changesonce the organizations leadership has communicated the need for change. The use one of thesemodels will greatly improve an organizations chances of success.Leadership and Management SkillsSome organizations develop approaches to change management that address changecomprehensively. A successful organizational transformation effort must capture the hearts andminds of people who need to operate differently to deliver the desired results (Boaz, Fox, 2014).
