Balance scorecard Hilton’s balance scorecard has become the primary tool used by them when reviewing corporate strategies. The use of balanced scorecard is critical for Hilton value chain as it breaks down the corporate long term strategies to much smaller short term achievable day today objectives. It uses financial and non-financial indicators to give a performance report of various factors that create Hiltons’ value. To measure the performance, an individualized balanced scorecard is given to each and everyone from front line managers to corporate staff. By handing them to every individual, they are aware of what is expected out of them and how well they have been doing at the given time. The results if using the scorecards at Hilton had increased the overall satisfaction of the employees and increased their likelihood to recommend Hilton to someone. The use of balanced scorecard at strategic levels has resulted in increased brand equity for Hilton. This increased brand equity had rated Hilton Garden Inn franchise above all the competitors in the market. This has also increased the teamwork among the employees since they are motivated to work together in achieving more and reaching the objectives faster. 11
