Conclusion If there is one thing this experiment demonstrated completely successfully, it’s the amount of time using a circuit editor like Multisim can save when analyzing circuits. Even with help of a computer, the time and effort to formulate and transform the equations by hand is simply incomparable with the efficiency of simulating the circuit in a near instant with use of a program. However, with that out of the way, this lab also showed the correct usage of nodal and mesh analysis. By applying Kirchhoff’s Laws to applicable circuitry, one can find everything about a circuit by hand, albeit arduous and tedious. Error between calculating the values by hand and by simulating in Multisim is practically nonexistent. Any discrepancies arise simply due to rounding differences, and in this regard the

Multisim calculations are almost certainly more accurate. Error between these two and the measured results was almost always at 1%-3%. One outlier, however, is the astonishing 40% and 80% differences between the simulation and measured results and between the hand calculation and measured results in Tables 5 and 7, respectively. With closer examination, one can see that the large error is simply due to the incredible smallness of the number. With such a small number, any difference is going to skew the percentage error magnificently. It is also to note that the difference between the numbers was 0.02V and 0.04V, an insignificant amount.
