production environment, it might be necessary for you to redeploy the workflow before you can run it. Table 37 describes how redeployment requirements depend on the technique that is used to migrate the workflow process. Migrating a Workflow Process This task is a step in “Process of Migrating a Workflow Process” on page 218 . Use the tool that you identified in the migration strategy to perform the migration. This topic describes procedural information for using the Import/Export strategy or the business service strategy. For procedures for ADM, see Siebel Application Deployment Manager Guide . For procedures for REPIMEXP, see Going Live with Siebel Business Applications . If you are migrating a large number of workflow processes, then you can define a small group of workflows to migrate as a first phase of implementation. After you successfully migrate the first group, you can add more workflows in a systematic manner. For more information, see “Migrating Workflow Policies to the Production Environment” on page 443 . Table 37. Comparison of Migrating with ADM to REPIMEXP or Import/Export Redeployment with ADM Redeployment with REPIMEXP or Import/ Export It is not necessary for you to manually redeploy workflow processes in the target environment. You must manually redeploy workflow processes in the target environment.

Siebel Business Process Framework: Workflow Guide Version 8.1, Rev A Administering a Workflow Process Process of Migrating a Workflow Process 224 Importing and Exporting a Workflow Process You can use the Import/Export feature both as a migration tool and as a way to back up an individual workflow process. Use a meaningful naming convention when choosing a filename for an exported workflow process in order to make it easy to understand the purpose of the process. Some prerequisites must be met when you use the import or export strategy. For more information, see “Migration with Import/Export” on page 220 . Importing a Workflow Process You can import a workflow process. To import a workflow process 1 In Siebel Tools, navigate to the Workflow Processes OBLE. 2 Right-click, then choose Import Workflow Process. The Open dialog box displays. 3 Choose a path and filename of the workflow process to import, then click Open. 4 Choose the project to which you must add the workflow process. The workflow process is imported with a status of In Progress. If a workflow process of the same name exists in the target environment, then the version number for the newly imported workflow is incremented by one. Exporting a Workflow Process You can export a workflow process. To export a workflow process 1 Locate the workflow process you must modify. For more information, see “Locating a Workflow Process in the Workflow Processes Object List Editor” on page 43 .
