The research articles used are related to the PICOT question since they both support theintroduction of new practical approaches to help in the diagnosis and management of obesity. One of the studies is by Cuda (2018) which studies the application of the Pediatric ObesityAlgorithm as a new practical approach to help in the diagnosis and management of obesityamong children. This study is supporting the idea that many healthcare providers includingnurses have little knowledge regarding the existence of the new approaches and where suchdiagnosis and management approaches can be found. According to this study, the new approachsuch as Pediatric Obesity Algorithm can be applied to help in the diagnosis of pediatric obesity, evaluation, and management. Pediatric Obesity Paradigm is also helping in carrying out thedifferential diagnosis, review of the system, diagnosis of the workup, performance of thephysical examination, managing age-specific, and treatment of the weight gain[ CITATIONCud181 \l 1033 ]. The PICOT question was purposely targeted in addition to new intervention or practicalapproach to help in dealing with the issue of obesity rather than using the traditional practicalapproach which only concerns promotion on the exercise participation and watching on the dietand lifestyle as a means of managing obesity. On a similar note, the study by Cuda and Cessani(2018) attempted to address the present gap related to the management of obesity. By identifyingthat the management approach which involves exercise and diet is not working successfullytowards diagnosis and management of obesity, it helps in giving reasons why it is necessary tohave new approaches. Therefore, this study shows that to effectively address the issue of obesityamong children it is crucial to have new approaches that work effectively in the diagnosis
4Research Critiques and PICOT Statement Final Draftprocess and management. Therefore, the authors of this research work confirm that thetraditional method is no longer working effectively towards the diagnosis and management ofobesity. This, therefore, calls for a need to Pediatric Obesity Algorithm as one of the new andeffective approaches towards the management of obesity among children thus helping inaddressing the existing gaps in the diagnosis and management of obesity. Another study supporting the application of the new approaches towards the diagnosisand management of obesity is by Bazyk (2013). The study supports or responds to the PICOTquestion through studying the new approach which involves a multi-tiered approaching inaddressing mental health concerns which are caused by the obesity illness among children. Inmany situations, healthcare providers have not emphasized how patients with obesity are affectedin terms of their mental well-being. Many patients or individuals with obesity in the society are
