The author uses James 1:17; Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8 to support the scientific constancy of the law of nature with the ID, naming God, or “the Agent responsible for theuniverse [to be] unwavering and unchanging” (Rana, 2015). And lastly, 1 Corinthians 8:6 is used as support for a single intelligent designer, “not an ensemble of designers” (Rana, 2015). 4)I think as the one who has study the ID theory, I would be open to his ideas, or at least intrigued by the way the author associates God as the intelligent designer. However, the author points out that some would have an issue with God as the ID because of the flaws in the design, such as pain and suffering. The author counters this by stating “a number ofphilosophers have pointed out that there may be good reasons why the Intelligent Designer would create a world where pain and suffering exist” (Rana, 2015). However, he does not actually give any specific philosophical or scientific reasons in this article to support this claim, so as the expert in ID, this could be used as reason to discredit his theory. 5)This paper addresses the scientific research and ideas about the beginning of the universe and the ID theory with God as the intelligent designer using the Bible as supporting evidence. Rana states, “It is remarkable to me how strong the scientific case is for intelligent design. As a Christian, I don’t find it all surprising that the scientific evidence
directs us to the God of the Bible. After all, Scripture teaches that God has revealed Himself to us through the creation” (2015). 6)I think the target audience is for Christians and non-Christians alike. The ideas presented could further build on the truth of God as the creator and intelligent designer of the universe, while perhaps persuading non-Christians to the idea that God is the intelligent designer. The author uses sound scientific research to relate to bible teachings which makes its target anyone looking to learn more about Gods role in the ID theory. Rana states, “There are many such [scientific] evidences, but I believe that this short list provides us with sufficient insight about the Designer’s qualities that we could reasonablyconclude that the Intelligent Designer is most likely the God of the Bible” (2015). 7)If I was non-Christian I think I would react to this article with a curiosity, and a grain of salt. The author makes a convincing case to support the ID theory and uses the Bible wellto support God as the intelligent designer. However, if one does not believe in the Bible and its teachings then all of his support for God as the intelligent designer are discredited.
