Discussion I think that some of the possible costs, particularly reproductive costs, associated with lizard push-ups is that by doing these push-ups they lose energy that could be needed for the other parts of the process of reproduction. An example of this would be the sperm for example. I think however, that this process is necessary to remain ownership of territory and attract mating partners.
