developmental change are discussed as follows: Interventions 1. Avoid hierarchical decision-making: To begin with, it has been a norm in most companies in dedicating decision making to managers. is avoided. The main aim of this intervention is gather all the necessary information from other employees because they will be responsible during the implementation process of any change. These employees will provide the managers with enough information before decision-making process begins. Therefore, it will be ensured all the aspects are included in the decision making. 2. Group work: Another intervention which is employed in implementing a developmental change is having a focus on groups. An organization is made up of groups and not just an individual employee. This means that to create a difference in the organization culture, development change or any other change in a company should take place primarily in groups. The reason as to why teams are important in an organization is because every team has its mission, purpose and objectives to meet at the end of the day. The summation of group objective makes up objectives for entire organization. Therefore, teams are agents of change and there must be clear understanding of every department in regard to its responsibilities and having sufficient support from management. 3. Building trust and investing in employees: There is power in creation mutual trust especially between employees and management. This method will facilitate openness in communication within organization and hence creation of change will be much easier. Managers must proof to their employees that they are trusted and in return employees can trust managers, and not something that can take place automatically. Further, several studies have shown that employees who are appreciated by their companies invest their time and talents into the company. Making additional investments towards employees like ensuring their well-being and development of skills will boost their morale of working harder towards achieving the company goals. Some of these investments include education opportunities, provision of employee benefits, adequate working tools and sufficient support which all will ensure efficiency and appropriate working environment. 4. Employee participation: It is worth noting that across the board employees always support what they participate in building. Effective change in an organization will call for active participation of employees in decision making and working towards goal achievement. Management of 12 | P a g e
