Taking a step back and looking at how Americans go about their day to day lives puts it in perspective. Certainterms like “rituals” makes it feel different than your daily process. You start to questions our priorities if you were not already questioning them. You can see how some countries look at our fascination with cosmetic surgery as a bad thing, although we are not the only ones with this issue. Overall, I understand how we look to others from the outside and how I might look at others from outside their culture. It takes more than just reading or seeing these folkway, mores, or taboo. One would need to experience growing up in that culture to explain their importance.
