Business operations Drivers receive delivery information through PDA which provide details for each delivery and record when job start and finish. All trucks are equipped with GPS that help driver in navigating to each pick up – drop off location. Each of the truck has 2 driver work together as a team but the main point is not driving that need 2 staffs. It is the lift on product from pickup point and lift off the product to drop off point. Even with 2 drivers helping in that process, there are large number of injuries due to heavy lifting. BSBMGT617 Develop and Implement a Business Plan Fast track will purchase 10 new trucks and use the existing drivers for regional routes. This implementation will cover the clients who want delivery to their regional offices, in particular Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central West which Fast Track cannot meet requirement in the past. The strategy going forward is to remove the need for two drivers per truck by installing an automatic lift gate on the back of each truck. Current 10 trucks will be used only 10 drivers compare to 20 drivers in the past due to heavy lifting. Investment cost 10 current trucks – install tail gate @ $10,000 per truck 10 new trucks – include tail gate @ $60,000 per truck Total 100,000 for current truck + 600,000 for new truck = $700,000 Moreover, we install radio network into all 20 trucks to provide communication to driver to the group. It helps sharing information like accident or traffic condition to other drivers but the main idea is to reduce the resistance from driver that we change from 2 man driver team to 1 driver. Provide better communication to them provide comfort environment similar to when they have 2 man driver team. Suggestion for HR, team building activities for head office employees and drivers is needed to improve the driver engagement and collaboration between the team. It is not about learning and development program but activities that build their relationship which lead to better unity.
