Accepting the client and empathetically understanding

This preview shows page 13 - 15 out of 15 pages.

Accepting the client and empathetically understanding can lead to growth and maturity. In conclusion though, while the conditions have been accepted the person-centered approach in the traditional sense will never be fully accepted without the backing of research. More evidence on the outcomes of clients experiencing empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard must be documented if the classical Rogerian approach (as intended) is to continue to be practiced.
