Explain why your education-entertainment message would be effective using the theories & concepts discussed in class (e.g. social cognitive theory, social comparison theory, ELM, identification, similarity with characters, etc.). Focus on how entertainment media can give an edge to the persuasiveness of the message compared to traditional persuasive information like PSAs or pamphlets (more appealing to target audience, less counterarguing, less preachy, etc.). Write at least 6 sentences (1.5 point). Post your document under the CARMEN discussion thread ‘Activity 10’ before the deadline specified in the syllabus. Part Five Read other students’ postings and comment on at least one other post; your comment must have a minimum of 50 words (0.5 pt) . Your comment could elaborate on what the original posting said or offer a different view—you need to provide substance in your comment (0.5 pt) and go beyond trivial remarks that merely say ‘good job/good point/agreed’ or chat casually without any deeper reflection on entertainment experiences in general (1 point).
