sent us the options. We decided to go with the cheapest ones since we have a large amount of patients. We then ordered 50 and dispersed them between the case managers to try out the new model. Another key stakeholder would be the visit nurses that will perform the teaching of the Gait belt at each visit. Without their participation the patient would receive the gait belt but have no training on how to use it properly. I will ensure each of the visit nurses are aware of this new process, provide training if needed, and ensure they will educate the patients. A7b. Success

C493 Task 1 I was willing to do whatever I needed to get this new idea, not only up and running but successful. I presented it to my manager which lined up ordering the gait belts and getting the fall numbers. I then introduced it to the case managers and took any feedback given. Once the Gait belts were ordered I ensured each case manager was aware and made sure they all had some in the trunk supplies to provide to the patients. To track the success I will have the quality control team run another falls report in 1 month. A8. Implementation To evaluate for success I will have the quality control team run a report right before the gait belts arrive, and then we will run another fall report 1 month after we have provided our patients with the gait belt. Those reports will be compared to each other to assess for a decrease number in falls within that month. We will also make sure we have a list of the patients that received the gait belt, and ensure none of them were on the falls report. This will help us in determining the success rate or gait belts. B1. Role of Scientist The role of a scientist as a BSN nurse is when the nurse participates in scientific inquiry. During this role as a nurse I would implement evidence that my idea that gait belts in the home will decrease the number of falls that occur is successful to create a new practice throughout home health care. (University Mission Congruent to Department of Nursing Mission, 2013) B2. Role of Detective The role of a Detective as a BSN nurse is when a nurse detects subtle change and deviations through clinical imagination and nursing science. This assists in preventing and controlling adverse outcomes within my idea I am trying to implement.

Role of Manager of The Healing Environment The role of a manager in a healing environment reflects on healthcare policies, finances, and regulations. As the manager you would create, coordinate, and advocate for a respectful, interdisciplinary environment within your health care setting.
