trumpet by sometimes altering pitches out of key to experiment with the prospects of jazz. This topic is particularly attractive due to the dedication that was displayed by Armstrong even from a tender age. It was very evident that the talent was there but his tenacity to succeed took his talents to a whole new level. He continually blended his past experiences with the ability to reinterpret it into the future, and this skill enabled him to take music to greater heights where no one else had ever achieved. The fact that all these accomplishments were achieved by no formal training just shows how talented this man was. In fact, the first training he received was at the age of 12, but at this age, his talents were already on the show (Pinfold, 2012). He played with the kind of confidence, conviction, and spirit that had not been witnessed before and this is probably the most powerful element of his musical career. Armstrong mastered the skill of playing the trumpet and changing the pitches during performances. The trumpet is a versatile musical instrument that made listening to music more interesting. It is present in varying genres such as jazz, classical, rock and much more and that is why it is described as a versatile instrument (Armstrong, 2012). Another important aspect of the trumpet is that comes in numerous varieties that are designed to play in different musical keys. Additionally, the trump may only have around three valves, but with only these three valves, it is possible to play up to 45 separate notes by merely manipulating the valves. All these qualities make the trumpet such an interesting topic of discussion in the field of jazz music.
