produced in the chipset has also been increased. This is hindering the way the company does business and therefore has a need to expand to T-Mobile by merging together with Sprint as one company to be a more efficient company as a whole. The current security measures are not big enough to handle both company's together as there is be areas of the business that could get compromised. There will also be a need for new emerging technologies as the industry is changing, and the 5G connectivity due to IoT and new handheld devices have improved tremendously over the years, and the need for 5G compatibilities is now much needed. The T-Mobile company and Sprint for the merger to be a success for both companies to merge would be to upgrade the operating systems to multiprocessors and multi-core processors. Benefits of upgrade OS The benefits of upgrading the processors in the company are that a multi-core processor comprises of two or more cores in it and operates parallel so that it can read and execute instructions. The main key factors of multi-core processors are that its faster at lower powered usage and handles more tasks at one time in parallel. The Experts say, "The good processing speed of the multi-core processors is due to the multiple cores which operate simultaneously on instructions, at a lower frequency than the single-core. At the same clock frequency, the multi- core processor will process more data than the single-core processor. In addition to this, multi- core processors deliver high performance and handle complex tasks at comparatively lower
Unit 5 - Individual Project 5 energy or lower power as compared with a single-core, which is a crucial factor in appliances such as mobile phones, laptops, etc" (Sethi & Kushwa, 2015, p.88). Steps needed and requirements to Upgrade Processor and Core The steps it would take to upgrade all the workstation systems in T-Mobile would be to install multi-core processors that have multiprocessors on each of the workstations in the company. This process will start immediately once approval is granted by the upper management to get the go-ahead with the installation process. The hardware will need to be upgraded as well to go along with the new multi-core processors and multiprocessors as they are more compatible then the current hardware that is in place. Management will work closely with the EUS (End- user support) team to help with the installation, configuration, and placement of the new multi- core processors and hardware in the T-Mobile enterprise. Some of the requirements would be to restore all of the data from all the employees in the company onto the new workstations from what would be used is the Druva backup and restore system software. Druva is a newly cloud-based backup and restores system that will be used with the new multi-core processors and multiprocessors in the company as data will be managed better as an increase in the amount of data being used will be taken place with the merger of Sprint and T-Mobile. Once completed, all the users in the company will be able to utilize the benefits of a faster and more efficient system then used before to complete their work duties.
