Worker Protection Health and safety at the workplace is now a major consideration and a must comply practice for all organizations. There are constant instruments that seek to promote and improve standards to ensure safety for employees. Unions and union contracts also lobby for safer standards impacting the safety standards in organisations. The human resource personnel must know worker protection requirements and must keep track of all changes to ensure the occupational environment meets both federal and union standards. The protection subjects include but not limited to chemical hazards, heating and ventilation requirements, use of “no fragrance” zones as well as the protection of private employee information. Furthermore, BCEA leads to the formation of fair labor practices by facilitating the regulation of elementary employment conditions, (South Africa, 1997d). In short it can be deduced that the above-mentioned Act gives effect to the institution of fair labor practices by making provision for the regulation of elementary employment conditions. The Act in question also determines and promulgates minimum wages for certain industries and employees groups. The recommended changes to BCEA will most likely lead to some key deviations for both employees and employers. According to Meyer, Section 33A forbad behavior suggestion intentions to avert employers from demanding or tolerating any fee from a worker when it concerns their occupation.
