Science and Technology: o Technology escalated due to demands evoked by the influx of returning soldiers that served overseas during the World War. Technology evolved to fuel the needs brought by the upcoming of mass production in the housing industry, in Levittowns, and the Highway Act of 1958, a marvel of human engineering, that was primarily built for military use to ensure the safety of Americans at the close of World War 2. The aforementioned battle of the brainpowers also resulted in the evolution of energy, specifically Atomic Energy, which was utilized by the Atomic Energy of 1954, which allowed private companies to own reactors, thus expanding the availability of atomic energy across the nation. Military spending also increased sporadically in the decades following world war 2. Along with increased military spending came technological developments in weaponry, such as the Hydrogen bomb, and stinger missiles, which were later deployed in the Vietnam War.
