In my case the Disability services will be a very important resource, because I
usually need a little more time to meet up with assignment requirements due to
a physical disability, which other resource is important to you?

Andason,
Great point regarding disability services as a support for students.
The revised
Code of Ethics;
“Disability” to “Ability”
In the 2008 edition of the Code, several standards included the term
“disability” among a list of diversity factors such as race, ethnicity, and national
origin. All the other diversity factors used positive, strengths-based language. In
the new Code, the term “disability” is replaced with “ability,” a more inclusive
and strength-based term. Rather than focusing upon deficits or problems, the

term ability invites social workers to think about the different abilities of people.
Thus, under standard 1.05(c), social workers should “obtain education and seek
to understand the nature of social diversity and oppression” with respect to
people with varying abilities (among other diversity factors). The term “ability”
is also incorporated into Standards 1.05(d), 1.06(g), 2.01, 4.02, and 6.04 for
similar reasons.

That is a great way of viewing the term disability,
as an ability. Will endeavour
to read the revised Code of Ethics to better understand the term "ability" in
terms of social diversity and oppression. what about the physical "ability"? from
what perspective is that viewed?

Hello Class,

I think that from the University resources that i would be using the most,
would have to be the Writing Center and also the Walden Library.
Now I say the Writing Center, because even though this isn't my first time
attending on line classes, it never hurt to brush up and freshen up your writing
skills. Helping improve he skills that you already are educated on. I have always
been confident in
being able to format and write my papers correctly, but I
know that i could use some improve in certain areas, just to make sure that I can
get the best grade possible. Not only when it comes to writing papers for school
but also with my job as well. I am an Admin personnel for the Homeless Team
and writing memorandums, or policies and procedure's always requires the
proper wording and structure.
Now when it comes to the Walden Library, this is one resources that will always
be helpful. The amount of different articles, books and dissertations that are
available to all Walden Students is amazing. And the fact that in todays day and
age everything is either on the Internet makes it much easier to look up the
information much faster than going into the library and checking out the book
itself. Now I'm not saying that there is nothing wrong with going into the library,
