Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering your organisational requirements. This is a workplace activity. The total time for the learner to complete this task should be between 6-8 hours. These tasks may be completed over any timeframe within the duration of this training program. 1. Read one document of your choice outlining legislative requirements that apply to profiling activities in your organisation. Write 150 words to summarise the requirements. The Privacy Act 1988 governs the way in which business entities and federal government agencies must handle personal information, largely through the 13 Australian Privacy Principles set out within the Privacy Act. The Privacy Act generally prohibits personal information to be used for direct marketing purposes unless the individual reasonably expects it, or consents to it, and prescribed ‘opt out’ processes are in place through which the individual can elect not to receive direct marketing communications (and the individual has not elected as such). The Privacy Act generally affords a higher level of protection to “sensitive information” given the mishandling of it can generally have a more detrimental impact on the relevant individual. “Sensitive information” is defined under the Privacy Act and includes information about an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, professional or political or religious affiliations or memberships, sexual orientation or practices, criminal record, health, genetics and/or biometrics. 2. For the marketing strategy presented in Activity 3B, create a document for your supervisor (or aimed at a supervisor.) Use language and structure appropriate to the audience. Marketing Strategy Executive Summary Blue Sky Clothing is experiencing remarkable growth: in the last year alone sales have tripled. Most of the current retail stores are concentrated in NSW, Victoria, the Western Territory, and a few outlets in Adelaide. As recently outlined in the Five-Year Marketing Plan, the company is looking to expand further by creating a strong web presence with a new e-commerce website and by launching in high potential international markets, starting from China.
