Students must make every effort to sit every other seat if there is room; you may be asked to sit elsewhere if needed. Late and Make-up Work Policies: Exams. Alternative exam or make-up dates will be offered in exceptional circumstances only . These include illness/medical emergency, participation in a University-sanctioned academic/athletic event, or to attend a funeral. You must notify the TAs of your situation as soon as possible prior to the scheduled exam and provide valid documentation prior to taking the make-up exam. Syllabus Quizzes, LearningCurve Assignments and Real World Nutrition Activities . If you know that you will miss due dates for assignments because of a documented illness or other excusable circumstance (e.g. University-sanctioned activity), you must contact the TAs ahead of the due date in order for that to be taken into account in assessing late penalties. Late work which has not been discussed with and approved by the instructor and/or TAs in advance will have 10% of the point value deducted for each day past the due date up to 7 days late . Late assignments are NOT accepted after 7 days. A “0” will be entered into Canvas for any missed assignments. Student Grade Monitoring Policy: The instructor grade book is continuously accessible on Canvas. It is the student s responsibility to monitor his/her grade and reconcile graded assignments with the Canvas grade book. Please bring any discrepancies to the attention of the TAs as soon as possible, but no later than 2 weeks after the grade was posted on Canvas or you risk losing those points . Other than simple data entry errors , grades will not be discussed via email ; please see the TAs or instructor in person. The last day for any make-up work or to submit questions related to grades or missing work is on the Friday of the last week of classes (ie, “Reading Day”).

Page 7 of 10 Civility Policies : My commitment is to create a climate for learning characterized by respect for each other. I ask that you make a similar commitment. You are expected to abide by the Standard of Conduct. Students who are unfamiliar with the Standard of Conduct are directed to the Office of Student Accountability & Support: Class begins promptly on the hour (8am, noon & 2pm for sections 01, 02 & 03, respectively). It is expected that you arrive to class on time ; tardiness is disrespectful to your classmates and the instructor. If you do arrive late, you should plan to sit at the back of the room so as not to disturb others. Likewise, if you must leave early, you are expected be respectful of your classmates and be as unobtrusive as possible when you make your exit. All cellular phones should be turned-off/silenced during lecture time.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
