The academic [Western] feminist must learn to learn from [Third World women], to speak to them, to suspect that their access to the political and sexual scene is not merely to be corrected by our superior theory and e nlightened compassion” (“In Other Worlds,” 135).

“A process of postcolonializing (9) o proseso ng pagiging postkolonyal ayon kay Ato Quayson. Dagdag pa ni Quayson: “The task of the critic is to postcolonialize ” (16). Nauunawaan ito nina Peter Childs at Patrick Williams nang sinabi nila na “postcolonialism [is] an anticipatory discourse, recognizing that the condition which it names does not yet exist, but working nevertheless to bring that about” (7). Ayon nga kay Bhabha, ang postkolonyalismo “emerges from the colonial testimony of Third World countries and the disco urses of ‘minorities’ within the geopolitical divisions of east and west, north and south... They formulate their critical revisions around issues of cultural difference, social authority and political discrimination in order to reveal the antagonistic and ambivalent moments within the ‘rationalizations’ of modernity” (“Postcolonial Criticism,” 438).
