Compassion Compassion grows out of polite behavior; thus, an individual is not born with it. Great leaders build empathy in various ways, some of which include: Conversation changing in that the leader does not talk about his or her accomplishment, instead talk about team accomplishments. Compassionate leaders build a collaborative culture; the leader invites the whole team in sharing the organization's goal and vision, and this enables them to create the necessary steps in achieving them. Furthermore, great leaders embody positivity; this creates an excellent mental attitude to all workers hence creating unity among them. Courage Courage differentiates great leaders from excellent managers. Courageous leaders take risks that are beyond the organization's expectations. Their boldness makes them make decisions that may cause a revolution in various markets. Brave leaders are sources of inspiration and energy to their teams. Courage cannot be taught in a classroom, but it can be gained and developed through several experiences that involve individual risk-taking. Conclusion Conclusively, leadership is crucial for effective societal functioning and effective organizational success. Due to its complexity, there is no specific definition of leadership. However, we can sum up that leadership is directing people to realize a common goal. This is done through leaders applying the necessary leadership attributes. Effective leadership can be achieved through collaboration between the environment, follower, and leader.
