In case of Sweeper, foundation bolts, running checks and functional performance need more attention. Analysis Conclusion:- From the above analysis of five machines, it can be seen that running checks or functional performance has highest Risk Priority Number on average. It means that during trials or Pre-Dispatch Inspection, functional performance should be given top priority to check if operation is smooth or not. During trials, it is important to check if the machine is giving consistent performance. If at all there is deviation found during running checks carried out for a sufficient time period, then it can be reworked to ensure smooth performance. Dispatching a quality product is as much important as timely delivery because dispatching a faulty product may affect the image of the company, which may not be looked at for business in next round of requirement. Other item functions are equally important for overall operation of the product but may be prioritized less. It is because safety of the operators is the most important feature, then comes the operational performance and at last the comfort and convenience of the operator and nearby people. Hence it is ranked accordingly. It can be seen that despite the low product of RPN, it is possible to have high severity of the failure. Hence, just looking at product may not highlight the seriousness of the failure. In that case severity ranking should be given high priority. Although RPN value can be associated with the seriousness of the failure, average RPN is considered to show graphically. Although some inspection areas are ranked low if we go by the figures of Risk Priority Number, they need same level of attention because they are some of the critical factors affecting the product and consequently the customers.
