was willing to marry him. Papi marrying Nilda meant that it would be easy for him to get citizenship in the USA hence making it easier to bring his family. They lived together, and Papi was able to have a house he didn’t pay the rent, and he ate without paying a single cent. Even though Papi stayed with Nilda, she was disgusted by her. Moreover, Papi was able to regain his fit and healthy body while staying at Nilda’s house. Finally, after falling ill and having constant fights with his wife Nilda, Papi decided to go back south and bring his family to the USA. He was tired of sending money to his first wife in the Dominican Republic, and he had missed seeing his family. The way Nilda and his bosses treated him made him realize that his family are the only people who cared about him. Moreover, he felt that his family needed to move out the Dominican Republic because they were having problems trying to survive. It is clear from the above discussion that the protagonist takes risks and makes decisions for the sake of his family. There is no other way the author could bring out this theme of making life-changing actions than the way Papi has been presented. The sacrifices made by Papi shows a man who is willing to do anything to achieve his goals and the impact of motivation in life- changing situations. Papi might have fallen astray while living in America but he eventually was able to get back on track.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
