In Georgia the legal limit to be considered intoxicated is .08, and if you are under the age of 21 it is .02 7. How is the legal limit measured? The legal limit in Georgia is measured with a BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) 8. Why is there a tax on alcoholic beverages? Tax is put on alcoholic beverages because of the old sin tax, and alcohol and tobacco are under that category. 9. How do the negative effects of drinking alcohol compare for men and women? The effects of alcohol are about the same. The only difference is that everything that would happen to a man, such as liver complications, would happen to a woman way quicker. It is also reported that women get brain damaged quicker than men do. 10. Have researchers demonstrated any beneficial effects of drinking alcohol?

Recent studies have shown that drinking in moderation has some benefits. It has been proven that moderate drinking lowers ones risk of diabetes, heart risk, reduces the risk of dementia in older people.
